Well this happened to me today, but rather than a queue mine was related to time. I booked a flight to Guatemala (GUA) for this coffee farm field trip with a change in Houston (IAH), leaving London Heathrow (LHR) at 11:40 with a layover in IAH of 3 hours - total trip time of 16 hours. I was going to book the 08:40 out of LHR with a 6 hour layover in IAH, but thought no this way I can spend more time in the UK over 6 hours in IAH. So with the snow today I left home early, in fact that early, I could have flown on the 08:40. It turned out the 11:40 was to be delayed to 15:00, which came on the update screens just as the doors closed on the 08:40 – this would mean I would miss my connecting flight to GUA. Now if I had not tried to be so clever and shorten my journey time by 3 and caught the 08:40 I would have not missed my connecting flight and a whole day in GUA. Why am I writing this? Guess I am bored sitting in the wrong queue, drinking the wrong coffee - waiting for the wrong flight – well the right flight but the wrong one if you know what I mean. Happy days….
