The last time we visited was back in 2008, but this trip will be different and will see us visiting some of the more remote areas around Chikmagalur, which is around a 6 hour drive from Bangalore.
Why India – well we like the growing conditions, the coffee varieties grown on the smaller more select farms and the people are just great. We’re going to be meeting around 8 new farmers and visiting 2 that we already have a working relationship. We are interested in cupping some Kent variety known for its exceptional cup quality and also some selection 9 which is a derivative of a cross between ‘Tafarikela’, and ‘Hybrido-de-Timor’. This coffee has inherited all the superior cup quality traits of Tafarikela.
As soon as we have more specific information on the trip we will post.
